Erin Shea Wins Mentoring Program at SCBWI

Past and present students from the CSUF Illustration program received top prizes at the Summer Los Angeles Conference of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Erin Shea, a student in the MFA in Illustration program, entered the portfolio competition and earned this year's new prize: a mentorship. Being selected offered Erin a chance to have face-to-face meetings with Arthur Levine (Editor of his own imprint at Scholastic, and the man responsible for bring Harry Potter to the U.S.A.), Priscilla Burris (Illustrator and Illustration Coordinator for the SCBWI worldwide), Cecilia Yung (Art Director and Vice President, Penguin), and David Diaz (Illustrator, Caldecott winner).
