MFA Illustration Grads Interning at Disney Imagineering Featured in L.A. Times

9.27.2008

This past summer, Disney Imagineering selected two Cal State Fullerton teams of students among the six finalist teams in their ImagiNations competition. The Los Angeles Times covered the extraordinary experience of these top-notch students in the article, "Sorcerers' Apprentices Concoct New Adventures." Of these students, four interned at Imagineering's Blue Sky group, including Patricia Caplette and Liz Schultz, both from the Cal State Fullerton's MFA in Illustration program. They worked with other interns with educations in architecture, engineering, and product design. As a group, they invented a new ride concept for an upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer film. The interns' concept was so innovative that Disney Imagineering is preparing a patent for it. Commenting on her work at Imagineering, Caplette writes, "It was just way too much fun." The L.A. Times also includes a 2-minute video with their article.
