Fullerton Museum Hosts J.C. Leyendecker Exhibit

8.16.2007

On Friday Sept. 21 at 6pm, the Fullerton Museum will open its doors to a retrospective of art by J. C. Leyendecker. J. C. Leyendecker, one of the most popular and singular illustrator of the Golden Age of illustration, influenced countless illustrators and artists with his elegant signature style seen by millions in the early decades of the 20th century through the many Saturday Evening Post covers and ads he illustrated. Norman Rockwell, at the beginning of his career, sought to imitate and equal Leyendecker. The show, which includes 50 paintings, sketches, and original works, will run through Nov. 18 (admission: $10).
