100th Post: The Sky's No Longer the Limit!!!

8.13.2007

This is the 100th post on the Fullerton Illustration News page! And what timing! It's the beginning of an academic new year (oh, the possibilities) and CSU-Fullerton alumna, Tracy E. Caldwell (B.S. Chemistry '93), is a living proof of such possibilities! Dr. Caldwell is presently in space on NASA's Mission STS-118 on Space Shuttle Endeavor! Dr. Caldwell details her path to the stars in an interview, and explains how the participation in the NASA Space Program of teacher Christa McAuliffe (who sadly perished in the 1986 Challenger accident) made the then 16-year old Caldwell realize that one day she could go to space if she set her mind to it. In a beautiful coincidence, Dr. Caldwell's current crew on Endeavor includes teacher Barbara R. Morgan, who served in 1985 as backup candidate to astronaut McAuliffe for the NASA Teacher in Space Program.

Titans, aim high! Dreams come true!
