Mac McCool Asks If Children Graphic Novels Are Right For You

The Summer issue of Kite Tales features an article by Mac McCool for current and aspiring children's book writers and illustrators who are thinking about crafting children's graphic novels. McCool invites readers to ask themselves a few pointed questions, then shares helpful tips to transition and educate oneself in the art of comics. His conclusion: "If you choose to have a hand in the future of children’s graphic novels, take kid’s comics seriously!" Kite Tales is the newsletter of the three Southern California chapters (L.A., O.C., and Ventura County) of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
