Alumna Mikela Prevost Wins SCBWI Freeman Grant

CSUF-Illustration alumna, Mikela Prevost, distinguished herself again by winning this time the Freeman Grant from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Every year, the SCBWI supports outstanding illustrators who work in the picture-book genre. The SCBWI requests of applicants a "rough book-dummy accompanied by two finished illustrations or ten finished illustrations suitable for picture-book portfolio presentation" (SCBWI website). While a graduate student in Calstate Fullerton Illustration program, Prevost received several impressive awards, including with the New York Society of Illustrator and the Society of Illustrators-Los Angeles (see Illustration Awards and Distinctions).
