Two Children's Book Illustration Shows Open at Chemers Gallery and CSUF

One of the most heart-warming event for children's book illustration lovers is the annual Children's Book Illustration Show at the Chemers Gallery in Tustin. This year's event happens on Saturday December 2 (1pm-5pm). The guest illustrators include: Jim Burke, Robin Preiss Glasser, Boris Kulikov, Dennis Nolan, & Lauren Mills. As usual, the Chemers Gallery will stock up on books so you can buy them and have them signed by the illustrators. If you are into collecting original illustrations, art exhibited in the gallery will be available for purchasing. The illustrators will also make short and informative presentations about their process, working with the writers (including the Second Lady), and they will make a painting demo. Immediately after this event, head to Calstate Fullerton's Visual Arts Department (map), where gifted graduate student in illustration, Shahzad Kazemi, opens her show of children's book illustrations. She blends Western storytelling themes with a unique, delicate, and ornate style, reminescent of her native Persian background.
