Cuyler Smith Joins the CSUF Grad Illustration Program

One of this Fall semester's two new students to the CSU-Fullerton Illustration graduate program is Cuyler Smith. Smith grew up in Texas, where he recounts that his "passion for communicating through art started at a very young age." That passion took him West, to the Laguna College of Art & Design, where he received a BFA in Classical Animation in 2003. During the graduate application review, Smith revealed to the faculty a carefully crafted CD package. The package in itself told the beginnings of someone's personal story. In a logical progression, the CD contained storyboards presenting dramatic episodes in the life of a family relative. Smith's artful storytelling instincts, his sense of deference towards his subject, and his elegant intimate style won over the faculty. We are truly happy he has joined the graduate program in Illustration. Welcome Cuyler!
